Purpose Of The Roles

The System Engineer plays a critical role in designing and managing the organization’s IT systems, networks, and infrastructure. This individual provides technical expertise, leads large-scale projects, and ensures the security, reliability, and efficiency of all systems.

Main Accountabilities

System Design and Implementation: Design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure, leading large-scale projects and evaluating hardware and software.
System Administration and Support: Monitor system performance, administer servers, troubleshoot issues, and manage disaster recovery.
Security and Compliance: Implement security measures, conduct audits, and ensure compliance with regulations.
Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Ensure optimal system performance, conduct capacity planning, and implement automation tools.
Collaboration and Team Leadership: Mentor staff, collaborate with departments, and contribute to strategic IT decisions.
Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Manage vendor relationships, ensure timely procurement, and communicate technical requirements to stakeholders.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation and generate reports on system performance, security, and projects.
Project Management: Lead system upgrades and migrations, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget, while managing risks.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree: in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience: in system engineering, IT infrastructure, or related areas.
Expertise in system administration: including Windows/Linux servers, network management, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies: (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Familiarity with scripting languages: (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) and automation tools.
Solid understanding of network protocols: security principles, and disaster recovery solutions.

Preferred Skills:

Relevant certifications: such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
Experience with DevOps practices: CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC).
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills: with the ability to solve complex technical issues.
Experience with storage solutions: (SAN/NAS), database management, and backup systems.

Working Conditions:

Full-time position.
On-call availability: for system emergencies.
Potential for after-hours work: during system maintenance or outages.
